Water sports fans can visit the impressive Lake Iskar, the largest inland lake in Bulgaria. Located 25 km from Borovets the lake extends 15 km. along the main road Sofia - Borovets.
In the lake area boats or pedal boats can be rented. For adventurers, wind surfing takes place in the south eastern part of the lake (from Sofia). For more adventurous water lovers there is wake boarding and water skiing.
The dam might be the Mecca of fishing in western Bulgaria. At any time you will see fishermen on the waterside. The main part of fishing takes place near Lavender at the end of the lake, near Samokov.
